Rebrand!

Hello friends!  Ryian’s Coffee Shop is rebranding!

I want to say welcome to all of our new readers, and hello to our long time readers. My name is Ryian. I’m 24, Catholic, and living in Minnesota. I’m married to a very tall ginger named Peter, and we have a 3 year old girl and a 1.5 year old boy.

I have a passion for ministry and fostering community, especially for young people and mothers. Almost 4 years ago when I was pregnant with our honeymoon baby, I had severe HG, and started blogging for friends and family to keep up with pregnancy updates. When our daughter Zelie was born, I was seeking community, but couldn’t find what I was looking for. So I decided to just start something myself, a Facebook group for young Catholic moms who feel alone in their vocation called Young & Wild Catholic Mamas, where we intentionally come together in solidarity to support love, and pray for each other.

It has been a wonderful community and they supported me through my second severe pregnancy. After our son Christopher was born, I was listening to millions of podcasts throughout the day and decided to start one too, but shortly after that, I was feeling spread thin. I was also dealing with postpartum depression and parenting two kids a year and a half apart. So I took a break from writing and focused my time on the group and getting better, but something was missing. I really missed writing.

I slowly started writing on the blog again, just for me and whoever else wanted to read it. I did the virtual Lent retreat and the rosary series, but I wasn’t quite sure what was next. I started getting some mentoring from a few different people, and I kept getting feedback about the joy that I had when I talked about the group, and it was then that I realized that the audience I was supposed to be writing to was Young & Wild.

So, on top of having the wonderful Facebook group, I rebranded the blog, podcast, and Instagram to Young & Wild Catholic Mamas, where I about faith, motherhood, and other miscellaneous tips, tricks, and topics that will help us take small simple steps towards being more intentional.

So for our first topic here, we will be answering a question that my friend who is a deacon asked me to post in the group. “What can the clergy do to support young moms?” There are over 150 comments, and I also just posted the question on Instagram today. Your feedback will be turned into a blog post that will be published on Friday and a podcast episode that will be published next Monday. My hope is these will be a resource that can be shared with our pastors!

After that, I’ve got a couple other ideas cooking up for down the road, like summer, prayer before bed, and how to give your testimony, and I’ll also give my own testimony. Please let me know any other ideas that you have for future topics!

You can do that by just messaging me. I also have a place for you to submit topics and questions in my Instagram story highlights at @youngandwildcatholicmamas.

You can also submit prayer requests! On Sundays I will post a new one so we can start off the week praying for each other. I just tried this out yesterday and everyone loved it and wanted to do it every week, but you can submit one at any time.

I will also be do Friday favorites in my stories, where I share my favorite posts of yours. So don’t forget to use the hashtag #ywcm.

If you are interested in joining the Facebook group, just send me a message and we’ll get you in. You do need to answer all the questions first, so some of you may need to go back and do that.

All blog posts and podcast show notes can be found here, at youngandwildcatholicmamas.com

Last thing, if you have been around here for a long time, please consider leaving a 5 star rating on Apple Podcasts so that more people like you can discover the podcast.

I’m looking forward to publishing the blog post on Friday! Until then, let’s take small simple steps towards being more intentional.
